Inter captain Samir Handanovic feels that he is still far from done with his career even after reaching the milestone of 350 Serie A matches for the Nerazzurri in his team’s 0-0 draw away to Atalanta.

Speaking to ITV after the match, the Slovenian emphasized that he is still focusing on continuing to find success and not resting on his laurels even with the strong reputation he has established over the years.

Handanovic once again showed his value to the Nerazzurri with an excellent performance to keep out La Dei who created several good opportunities over the course of the match but none good enough to beat the Nerazzurri captain.

The 37-year-old is in his tenth season with Inter, having joined from Udinese in the summer of 2012, and he has become one of the few consistent presences in the team through a long spell that has seen many other players come and go.

About the significance of 350 appearances for the club, he emphasized that “There are still games to play, we hope to go even higher and reach more objectives.”

Reflecting on the draw with Atalanta, the 37-year-old stated that “We knew it would be a tough match, it’s always like this here. It’s never easy to play against them, especially after Wednesday’s match.”

He added that “It’s a fair draw, in the end we could have won it, but the result is fine. We tried to play our game in Bergamo no matter what, we take the point.”

On his saves during the match to keep a vital clean sheet, he stated that  “It’s my job, to make saves when there are opportunities for the opponent to score.”

“Today perhaps they were a little more difficult,” he went on. “Sure, I’m happy with this, we didn’t let anything in our goal and we’ll take this point away from Bergamo.”

“Saves are always tricky,” he added, “it is always difficult to say which was the most difficult. From my point of view the one on Muriel was not easy, especially for how he took it.”
