Referee Juan Luca Sacchi has been appointed to be in charge of Inter’s Coppa Italia clash with Empoli on Wednesday evening.

This is confirmed in an announcement on the Nerazzurri’s official site, where the rest of the crew of officials for the match are also named.

Sacchi will be assisted in his duties by the likes of Matteo Bottagoni and Damiano Margani, while the role of the fourth official will be filled by Andrea Colombo.

In the VAR booth, Antonio Giua will oversee the match and ensure that any major errors made by the on-pitch officials are corrected, while Mauro Vivenzi will assist him in his duties.

The Nerazzurri will be hoping that the focus is on the action on the pitch and not on any refereeing controversies as they look to kick off their Coppa Italia campaign by progressing to the next round by beating the Tuscan side Empoli.
