Young Inter striker Martin Satriano is still committed to the Nerazzurri despite having gone out on loan to Ligue 1 side Brest.
Speaking to the press while being unveiled at Brest, as reported by FCInterNews, the 20-year-old clarified that he has extended his Inter contract before joining the French side, and also spoke of his happiness at taking on the new challenge.
Satriano has made the switch to Brest for the rest of the season, where he will expect to gain more playing time and to develop within the senior game.
The Uruguayan will join his Inter teammate Lucien Agoume, who has been with Brest on loan since the beginning of the campaign.
The purpose of the loan is for Satriano to show his ability with more time on the pitch and to get more experience, but he is still committed to the Nerazzurri, and the club has shown faith in the young striker by tying down his future before sending him away on loan.
Satriano explained that “Before I joined, my contract with Inter expired in 2024, now it will expire in 2027.”
Of his loan, the Uruguayan explained that “I liked the idea of coming to France, I have seen many Brest matches and I think they’re a good team. That’s why I chose them.”
“I had other offers but the one I preferred was a move to Brest,” he added.
Of his teammate Agoume, Satriano stated that “I’ve talked to him many times. He’s told me about the level of Ligue 1, he also told me that this is a nice place to be.”
On the difference between Serie A and Ligue 1, the striker explained that “In Italy, football is more tactical, whereas here it’s more physically intense.”
Satriano stated that “I feel that I’m a player who can help the team by scoring and assisting goals. I can also help the team out of possession.”
Of his new club, he continued that “I’ve watched Brest play on TV, they have many players doing well this year. I like Agoume, I’ve known him for a long time.”
He went on that “I feel good, I’m ready. I spent six months at Inter, one of the best clubs in the world – training at that level helped me improve.”
“I came here to help the team,” the 20-year-old explained, “I need this loan to get more minutes and play at a good level.”
And on his first couple days with the club, the Uruguayan explained that “Agoume has helped me a lot, but also the rest of my teammates. I speak Spanish, some English, in a while I hope to speak French.”
