Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has expressed his joy at having scored a goal that helped Inter into the next round of the Coppa Italia, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport, via FCInternews, the Italian defender was clearly thrilled that he scored a goal of such high quality to keep Inter in the game with seconds left on the clock.

The Nerazzurri were 2-1 down at San Siro as the game entered stoppage time. The ball fell in the box f0r Andrea Ranocchia and his acrobatic effort flew into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

“I scored, it’s a success: it was the only way to score and luckily it went in. I’m happy that we passed the round, that it was with one of my goals makes it even more beautiful.”

Inter went on to win the tie in extra time thanks to a good strike from substitute Stefano Sensi who could be about to leave the Nerazzurri on loan to join Sampdoria until the end of the season.
