Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi could stay at the club for the rest of the season following his extra time winner against Empoli in the Coppa Italia, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian midfielder appears to be very close to joining Sampdoria on loan for the rest of the season so that he can gain more first team action.

The events of Wednesday night in the Coppa Italia against Empoli may have changed that, though. It has always been clear that Simone Inzaghi wants Stefano Sensi to be a part of his team but the former Sassuolo man has struggled with injuries.

His winning goal in extra time to make it 3-2 to Inter exhibited why the club has persevered with him to this point.

As well as that, he may be able to provide cover for the now-injured Joaquin Correa.
