Inter has officially confirmed that Joaquin Correa has suffered an injury to his left thigh and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The club made the announcement on Friday afternoon and explained that the Argentine underwent a series of medical tests which revealed damage to a flexor in his left thigh.

The injury was sustained in the first 150 seconds of the Coppa Italia match against Empoli on Wednesday night which Inter went on to win 3-2 thanks to Stefano Sensi’s goal in extra time.

Joaquin Correa was in tears when he left the pitch and it is thought that they were due to frustration about suffering another thigh injury.

The knock-on effect of the injury is that Stefano Sensi now looks set to remain at Inter and provide depth in the attacking area rather than moving on loan to Sampdoria.

Inter are not expected to make any moves in January for a striker.
