Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi has decided that he wants to remain at the club this month rather than move to Sampdoria on loan, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the goal that Stefano Sensi scored in the Coppa Italia against Empoli at San Siro on Wednesday night has rejuvenated his confidence and convinced him that he can force his way into Simone Inzaghi’s team.

The other factor that convinced him that staying with the Nerazzurri is best is that Joaquin Correa’s thigh injury means he is more likely to be called upon by the boss over the next month or so.

The Italian midfielder is very keen to play enough matches so that Roberto Mancini will choose him for the next Italy squad and subsequently for the World Cup in Qatar should the Azzurri manage to qualify for the tournament.
