It is looking increasingly likely that Inter’s match against Venezia on Saturday at San Siro will not go ahead due to a Covid-19 outbreak at the visiting club, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Venetian side are known to now have 15 positive cases amongst the club and it is known that eight of those cases are players.

the club has also announced another positive case but it is not known if that is a player or a member of staff. The new regulations in Serie A mean that if 35% of the playing squad tests positive, the team must quarantine and not play any matches.

This means that should a ninth Venezia player test positive, they will not be able to travel across to Milan to fulfil the fixture.

This will likely cause a fixture pile-up for Inter later in the year with the Bologna match.
