Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to throw everything at Venezia this evening, and is not thinking about holding his team back with a view to the big matches to come.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN ahead of the match, the coach emphasized that he has included two players one booking away from suspension in the form of Marcelo Brozovic and Lautaro Martinez because his only priority is three points.

The Nerazzurri have a chance to go five points ahead of their closest rivals AC Milan at the top of the table with a win this evening, and they are playing with their strongest starting eleven to try and put their opposition to the sword.

Venezia are much closer to the bottom of the Serie A table than to the top, but Inzaghi has put out his first-choice team in the hopes of getting a positive result ahead of massive clashes with AC Milan and Napoli.

Asked whether two players on the pitch being one booking away from suspension with the derby the first match back from the break is a consideration for him, Inzaghi responded  “Absolutely not, I’m not thinking about the derby at the moment.”

“We have a tough match against a well-organized opponent ahead of us right now,” he added. “Our full concentration is on beating Venezia, and then there’s the break. We’re thinking from game to game.”

On Joaquin Correa’s injury the coach stated that “It was badly-timed because he was just starting to get back to his best.”

“But let’s play this match at our best,” he went on, “then we’ll work as a club to do what’s best in this situation. I know I have the support of a strong and intelligent club that’s always ready.”
