Inter are not likely to sign Felipe Caicedo from Genoa to fill in for Joaquin Correa, as the Argentine’s injury is less serious than expected.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri are not likely to sign a forward during the January transfer window and will instead wait out the recovery of Correa.

Correa had to come off with what was determined to be a hamstring strain early on in Inter’s Coppa Italia win over Empoli, and the 27-year-old’s injury layoff leaves the Nerazzurri with only three forwards in the squad.

Given the possibility that the remaining players in attacking positions could be missed due to injury or suspension as well, the club have reportedly been considering a reinforcement before the transfer window closes.

Caicedo, who has worked with Inter coach Simone Inzaghi for several seasons at Lazio, has been reported as one of their main possible targets on loan.

However, according to Sky, the injury to Correa does not look to be serious enough to prompt the Nerazzurri to move for Caicedo.
