Ajax Golkeeper Jay Gorter On Inter-Linked Andre Onana: “He’s A Great Goalkeeper I’ve Learned A Lot From”

Ajax fourth-choice goalkeeper Jay Gorter feels that Inter-linked Andre Onana is a high-level goalkeeper.
Speaking to Ajax’s official social media channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 21-year-old praised Onana for the impact he’s made on him ahead of the Cameroonian’s expected move to the Nerazzurri in the summer.
Onana is young in goalkeeping terms, more than a decade younger than current Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic for example at 25, but he is not without experience.
The Cameroonian has appeared in Champions League knockout ties with Ajax and has also played a key role in league titles in the Eredivisie, marking himself out as a complete player in his position.
Inter can take heart from Gorter’s words about the 25-year-old, who will arrive with a substantial portion of his career ahead of him as he looks to replace Handanovic in the long term, but also with enough experience that he won’t take too long to settle in.
“Onana’s a great goalkeeper, I’ve learned a lot from him,” Gorter said. “Remko [Pasveer, Ajax goalkeeper] as well, we’re all good friends.”
