Former Inter striker Giampaolo Pazzini believes that the Nerazzurri showed their hunger to defeat Venezia yesterday evening in a match where they had been some way from their best.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the 37-year-old emphasized that while the Nerazzurri had lacked inspiration they also showed determination until the very end.

Inter fell behind after being caught cold at the back in a match that they were expected to win comfortably against opposition near the bottom of the table, and they never fully convinced in their efforts to turn the game around.

In the end, an equalizer from Nicolo Barella and a late header from Edin Dzeko were enough to give the Nerazzurri all three points going into the international break.

The Nerazzurri will have to show more quality than they did yesterday evening if they are to get the results that they need over the rest of the campaign, but the desire to win was undeniable.

“I liked the response from the whole team,” Pazzini said of the Nerazzurri’s comeback. “Inter showed character and desire to win even when they weren’t at their best. This hunger is the most important thing.”
