Genoa are targeting Inter striker Eddie Salcedo on loan after missing out on Atalanta’s Roberto Piccoli, though Inter could also decide to keep him in their squad.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Griffone are aiming to sign Salcedo who has returned from loan with Spezia, but the Nerazzurri are also considering him as an option for their own attack given their absences.

Salcedo joined Spezia on loan during the summer transfer window, but he has barely featured for Thiago Motta’s team, who agreed to cut his loan move short.

The 20-year-old could stay in Liguria, with Genoa admirers of him, and they could look to loan him in their bid to stay in Serie A.

Atalanta’s Piccoli had looked close to a loan to Genoa, but La Dea coach Gian Piero Gasperini did not want to lose the young striker given the frequent absences in his attack, so Salcedo is Genoa’s main alternative.

Should Salcedo join Genoa, then they could let Felipe Caicedo go, with the Ecuadorian being a possibility to join Inter for the rest of the season to bolster their attack given Joaquin Correa’s injury problems.

Caicedo would be the main target for the Nerazzurri if they are prioritizing experience, while they could also rely opn Salcedo instead.
