Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi will be hoping that he can rely on the fitness of his South American players after they come back from the international break.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri coach wants to have his entire squad rested and fit for the massive run of games on the other side of the break.

This break, more players in Inter’s squad will be staying behind to train than in the past, with the Italian national team the only one participating in the World Cup qualifiers that has any Nerazzurri players in it.

However, in the case of the South American squad members, they still have two World Cup qualifiers to play, and Inzaghi will hope that their fitness is not compromised by the matches.

Inter had already started to look leggy in their matches before the break, especially given their participation in two knockout matches that went to extra time.

Moreover, Joaquin Correa’s injury means that Inzaghi will hope that he can count on top contributions from those forwards who are not injured.
