Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi still looks set for a loan move to Sampdoria before the end of the January transfer window, but Matias Vecino should stay at the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Vecino will remain until the end of the season unless the right club makes a late push for his signature.

Sensi had looked on the verge to a switch to Sampdoria on loan before Joaquin Correa picked up an injury during the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia clash with Empoli, a match in which Sensi came off the bench to score the winner.

Inter put the move on hold as they considered relying on Sensi as depth in attacking midfield with forward options light, but the player still prefers to go through with the move and could be allowed to leave.

Meanwhile, Vecino looks likely to see out his contract at the Nerazzurri and then leave at the end of June, as no offers have come in which he and the club are ready to accept.

If a late bid comes in for the Uruguayan, with Lazio in particular interested, then the Nerazzurri would allow him to leave, but for now a stay looks likelier for him.
