Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is still keen on a loan move to Sampdoria, but the Nerazzurri are holding off on the move until they decide on their transfer strategy in attack.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 26-year-old is hoping to move to the Blucerchiati for more playing time, but that the club may feel that he is too important for the rest of the season to be allowed to leave.

Sensi had looked all set to make the switch to Sampdoria on a dry loan for the rest of the season, but an injury to Joaquin Correa has meant that the Nerazzurri see him as a potentially important player adding depth in attacking midfield.

The Nerazzurri could also sign a backup striker but only if a low-cost option becomes available, and if they are unable to then they could wish to keep Sensi to ensure depth while Correa is out injured.

Sensi is still hoping that the move to Sampdoria on loan will go through, but it looks as though this will be dependent on whether Inter decide that they can do without him over the rest of the campaign.
