Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that the Nerazzurri have been affected less by tiredness and a drop in form than many of their major rivals.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rai Radio 2, Adani suggested that Inter are the one big team in Serie A who don’t look to have seen their level drop off in recent weeks.

Inter have suffered from the fatigue that comes from having to play nearly two games every week for the entire season, and the squad and coach Simone Inzaghi have spoken about being happy to have a rest during the international break.

However, results have largely not suffered, as the Nerazzurri have gotten the job done in all of their games this month apart from a cagey goalless draw with Atalanta.

Despite facing the same difficulties that their major rivals have in terms of fixture congestion, the Nerazzurri have enjoyed positive form which has led them to a solid lead at the top of the Serie A table.

“I see a team who are dominating in the league, with proactive play and quality,” Adani said of the Nerazzurri, “sometimes it goes well, other times less well.”

“A week ago they created four or five chances away to Atalanta,” he continued. “Yesterday they changed 50% of the outfield players and all the substitutes contributed something, even Vecino, who is the one who plays the least.”

“Dumfries made the difference,”  he said of the Nerazzurri’s late winner against Venezia. “Not to mention Dimarco, Vidal – no matter who plays, they always do well.”

Adani emphasized that “Matches cannot always be won by a blowout result, but this team has shown a solid mentality ever since they’ve taken the lead.”

He concluded that “I see every other teams struggling at times, but I never see Inter having those issues.”
