Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi plans to use the international break to deal with the fatigue which has been noticeable in his squad in recent matches.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who explain that the coach will focus on personalized training plans and work with specific players who have been suffering from fatigue.

Tiredness has been a theme in the Nerazzurri’s matches leading up to the international break, especially given that the team went through two extra time matches, against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana and Empoli in the Coppa Italia.

Striker Edin Dzeko is one of the players in whom fatigue has most been a problem, while defender Stefan de Vrij has also struggled for his best form.

Inzaghi plans to focus significant attention on getting the pair back to their best, while Marcelo Brozovic is a player who has started all but one of the Nerazzurri’s matches across all competitions this season and will work to keep his fitness and energy levels up.

Arturo Vidal could play a significant role across the games after the break, especially given that he could take the place of the suspended Nicolo Barella against Liverpool in the Champions League, and will be another focus.

The Nerazzurri’s players who are away with either the Italian national team or on international duty in South America will not be available to be worked with while their World Cup qualifiers go on.

Inzaghi will be hoping that these players return fit and with some measure of rest, but for the upcoming days will focus on the players who he has at his disposal.
