Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries has made a decisive impact in his recent run of games for the Nerazzurri.
As Italian news outlet FCInter1908 highlight, the Dutchman has been directly involved in four goals since coming in for the injured Matteo Darmian, scoring three and assisting one.
Dumfries got off to a tentative start to life in a Nerazzurri shirt, showing flashes of his obvious quality but not always performing consistently or showing that he fully fit into his role in the team.
The 25-year-old had to take over from Darmian who suffered a thigh injury in the Nerazzurri’s away match against Venezia in November, and it was not immediately clear that he would be able to fill in.
Darmian had been in excellent form, and Dumfries would have to show consistency as well as end product if he were to replicate the 32-year-old’s performances.
The former PSV man has done so, looking assured down the right and also chipping in with goals, while his excellent cross for Edin Dzeko’s late winner against Venezia showed once again that even from the bench he can be the player to make the difference.
