Milan Mayor Beppe Sala expects that there will be debate on the new stadium in Milan, as the building of it will be a significant project for the entire city.
Giving a public address, as reported by FCInterNews, the Mayor emphasized that while he agrees with the need to build the new stadium, making sure that all voices are heard on the matter is also important.
Inter and AC Milan are pressing ahead with their plans to build a new stadium in Milan, which they see as vital for modernizing their infrastructure and keeping up at the top of European football in terms of revenue.
The clubs have taken significant strides towards beginning construction in the past few months, including settling on a design for the new stadium, but they have also encountered opposition, particularly to the proposed demolition of the San Siro to make way for the new structure.
Sala stated that “I share the view that a new stadium needs to be built, however, it is necessary to thoroughly debate all viewpoints and conditions, since the stadium affects everyone in the city.”
