Matias Vecino is set to remain at Inter for the rest of the season rather than leaving during the January transfer window.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that head coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to give the Uruguayan a role within the team over the second half of the campaign, and that he will not depart.
Vecino received limited playing time over the first few months of the campaign and even spoke about being unhappy with his lack of a prominent role within the team, leading to reports that he could leave during the January transfer window.
The 30-year-old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June, but it was not excluded that he could leave this month if the right offer came along.
However, this does not look likely to happen and the midfielder will instead remain a part of the Nerazzurri’s squad until the end of the campaign.
