Atalanta wing-back Robin Gosens is set to arrive at Inter on an initial loan for the rest of the season before joining permanently in the summer, and he could fit in perfectly to their tactical setup.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight the German’s fit within the 3-5-2 formation employed by Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Gosens has significant experience playing in a wing-back role after several seasons playing under Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta.

The La Dea coach has moulded the 27-year-old into a player who is familiar with the physical as well as tactical and positional demands of the wing-back role, which should allow for a fairly quick adjustment to the expectations of Inter coach Inzaghi.

Moreover, the German is not only well-suited to the position, but has also shown that he can excel in it.

Since the beginning of the 2019-20 season, no defender has been involved in more goals in Serie A than Gosens, with his 21 goals and 15 assists an indication of just how much end product he offers from the position once he is settled into a side.
