Napoli are set to rival Inter for the signature of Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, who they have identified as a target.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Partenopei could look to target the 22-year-old especially if Fabian Ruiz is to depart.

Frattesi looks to be the Nerazzurri’s priority target to strengthen their midfield in the summer transfer window, with Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino set to depart at the end of their contracts.

Inter are working to get a deal for the 22-year-old secured, but Napoli could also look to bring him in in June, with the possibility of cashing in on Fabian Ruiz meaning they could be in the market for a midfielder.

Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez and Verona’s Ivan Ilic are also among the Partenopei’s midfield targets, but they are also seriously considering Frattesi, so could compete for his signing with Inter.
