Inter could announce the extension of Marcelo Brozovic’s contract immediately before or after the derby against AC Milan, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the agreement with the Croatian midfielder has effectively been in place for some time, all that is missing is the official announcement.

The figures for the new contract include a fixed salary of €6 million per season as well as a series of bonuses that will see him earn over €7 million each season. The deal is expected to run until 2026.

It has been reported that the official announcement for the deal could be made immediately before Inter face AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina at the beginning of February.

That match could represent a major period in Inter’s season in relation to both the title race and keeping hold of one of their best players.
