Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic will likely have to accept being the backup goalkeeper to Andre Onana next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by the Roman daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport today, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has already carried out all of his medical inspections and will likely be the first choice goalkeeper at the club.

Samir Handanovic may still decide to stay at the club and share the role with Andre Onana. He would likely be given the responsibility of cup matches and of course filling in if Andre Onana is injured.

The Cameroonian has not had his transfer officially announced yet but he has been seen arriving at Inter’s headquarters in recent weeks to sign his contracts and undergo his medical examinations.

He joins after being the Ajax number one goalkeeper for most of his career so far and he is currently at AFCON with Cameroon.
