Former Inter defender Andreas Brehme has said that it is impossible to turn down an offer from Inter when it comes your way, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Andreas Brehme was discussing Robin Gosens’ move from Atalanta to Inter that was finalised yesterday.

After praising the player and explaining what is so good about the German defender, Andreas Brehme suggested Robin Gosens will have felt compelled to walk from Bergamo to Milan to make the deal happen.

“A great signing. Also because he is 27 years old. Congratulations to the Nerazzurri who have taken on an excellent player, a complete interpreter on the wing. He has grown a lot at Atalanta: he is an extraordinary acquisition.

“He has an excellent left foot and crosses very well, he makes many assists. And beware of one-on-one, an aspect in which he is very strong. I put myself in his shoes: if you get an offer from Inter, go on foot from Bergamo to Milan.”

He then compared it with his own move from Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga to Inter in the past.

“Atalanta play very well, they are an exceptional team and we must thank Gian Piero Gasperini for the excellent work. But it is normal to be tempted to go to Inter.

“It happened to me too: I was playing at Bayern Munich and it was natural for me to move to Milan. Serie A was the best league in the world.”

It is thought that Robin Gosens will be the replacement for Ivan Perisic who will be out of contract at the club at the end of this season. Andreas Brehme feels that the pair could actually play together though for Inter.

“Ivan is having a great season, he is almost 33 years old and he is expressing himself at very high levels. Gosens, however, is 27 and this is an aspect to take into consideration. Then Inzaghi will decide and it will depend on Perisic’s future, but in my opinion, they can play together.”
