Italian journalist Antonio Di Gennaro has said that Robin Gosens will eventually replace Ivan Perisic at Inter, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Il Mattino, Antonio Di Gennaro showed how much admiration he has for Robin Gosens and the work that he has done at Atalanta over the past few years.

“Inter with Gosens is going to fill in the eventual departure of Perisic and in the meantime, they take on one of the best wide players around.

“In recent years he has done incredible things at Atalanta, also helped by Gasperini’s game for which the wide players are fundamental. Of course, he comes from a long injury but he is a trusted player.”

He is joining Inter on a six-month loan and the deal will be made permanent in the summer for an initial fee of €22 million. The bonuses involved will likely see the price rise to €27 million altogether.

Ivan Perisic will be out of contract with Inter at the end of the season and does not appear close to signing a new deal just yet.

He may decide to go to a new club for the final few years of his career which will likely mean that Robin Gosens will become the main man at Inter on the left.
