Inter striker Eddie Salcedo looks set to stay at Spezia on loan for the rest of the season rather than ending his stay with the Ligurian club early.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 20-year-old does not appear to be likely to change clubs during the January transfer window.

Salcedo has found playing time hard to come by with Spezia this campaign, and had reportedly been set to cut his loan spell short so that he could return to Inter or be loaned out to a club where he would receive more minutes.

However, the young striker instead looks set to remain with the club where he will fight for his place under coach Thiago Motta for the rest of the season.

The Nerazzurri will continue to monitor Salcedo’s progress on loan in Liguria in the hope that he can appear more regularly and develop.
