Inter are set to bring in Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca to complete their attack during the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri have identified the 22-year-old as the player to lead their attack into the future and have a clear path to sign him.

Juventus had been major rivals for Scamacca’s signature, but with the Bianconeri having completed the signing of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina the Nerazzurri should have a significantly freer run at the Neroverdi striker.

The player’s desire is to join Inter as the next step in his career, and he has rejected an offer from Borussia Dortmund who offered Sassuolo €45 million for the striker.

The Nerazzurri are ready to offer Scamacca a salary of €2.5 million net per season in order to secure his signature, and also a role as understudy to Edin Dzeko before leading their attack into the future.

Now Inter must find ways to meet Sassuolo’s valuation for the striker, which could be achieved with sales during the summer, while they could also send players the other way as part of a player-plus-cash offer.

Inter-owned striker Andrea Pinamonti has been in good form on loan with Empoli and could be offered to the Neroverdi as a replacement for Scamacca, while young defender Lorenzo Pirola could also interest them.

Work must be done by the Nerazzurri to get the deal for Scamacca over the line, but they are working to make him their striker in June.
