Inter are hoping to have newly-arrived Robin Gosens back in time to play against Liverpool in the Champions League during the away leg of the round of sixteen tie.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the German is aiming to be back in time to be a part of the second leg of the massive Champions League clash at Anfield.
Gosens has completed his move to Inter from Atalanta, initially on loan for the rest of the season, but he is currently out injured.
The 27-year-old should be out until around the end of February, but once he returns he will reinforce the team in the left wing-back position along with Ivan Perisic.
Inter are aiming to have Gosens ready to contribute in the vital last months of the season and to challenge Perisic in the left-sided position, and they will see the second leg of their round of sixteen clash at Anfield as the first major match for him.
