Inter captain Samir Handanovic is ready to renew his contract with the Nerazzurri if the right offer is made.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 37-year-old wants to stay and fight for the starting spot with incoming Andre Onana despite having major offers from two other clubs.

Handanovic’s current deal expires at the end of June, and with the Nerazzurri all set to sign Andre Onana on a free transfer from Ajax in the summer, it has not been clear whether the Slovenian will stay on.

The keeper has two major offers, one from a Serie A club and one from a club from abroad, according to the report, but his priority is to stay at the Nerazzurri past the summer and compete with Onana to start.

The captain is aware that he will not be offered a new deal worth as much as the net €3.5 million which he currently earns, but would not agree to a reduction in wages to €1.5 million net per season.

Should the Nerazzurri offer Handanovic a new contract at around €2.5 million net per season, however, he is likely to agree a new deal.
