Inter defender Aleksandar Kolarov is all set to terminate his contract by mutual consent today, and will likely retire from football altogether.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 36-year-old will leave Inter and is unlikely to find a new club.

Kolarov extended his contract with the Nerazzurri last summer after having joined in the summer of 2020 from Roma, but he has barely played this season.

Injuries have been a persistent issue for the Serb, who has been unable to find any consistent form, and he has not managed to cement a place for himself even off the bench over the first few months of the campaign.

It still remains to be seen what Kolarov decides to do for his future, but according to the Corriere, the likeliest possibility remains that he will decide to hang up his boots and retire.
