Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi will make his final decision on who to start in attack against AC Milan in the derby in the 48 hours before kickoff.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who also detail the coach’s plan to deal with the threat of in-form Rossoneri forward Rafael Leao.

Inzaghi will have four options available to him to start in attack, with Edin Dzeko currently in training along with new arrival Felipe Caicedo, while Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez are set to return later this week.

The coach will consider both the individual fitness and form of his players as well as the tactical side in deciding which forwards to start, with Martinez and Sanchez potentially coming back a way off full fitness from international duty.

Meanwhile, the coach is also focusing preparations for the crucial derby clash on neutralizing the danger posed by Leao for Milan.

The versatile Portuguese attacker can work effectively out wide on the left, and the coach wants to make sure that Denzel Dumfries is adequately ready to stick to his defensive task against Leao.

On the other hand, Leao is also a constant threat to come inside and shoot or combine with teammates, especially Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so the coach will be working with Nicolo Barella and Milan Skriniar to make sure they are prepared to stop him.
