Young Inter midfielder Nikola Iliev is already considering renewing with the Nerazzurri amid accolades for his recent form with the Primavera team.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, the 17-year-old’s agent Kaloyan Ivanov stated that their plan is to sit down with the club about extending his contract in the near future.

Iliev has been named in UK newspaper The Guardian’s list of the sixty most promising young players in world football, and the Bulgarian teenager has been one of the bright spots in the Primavera team’s campaign so far.

The Nerazzurri will be considering their next move with Iliev, and given his form and the development that he has shown, they will hope that he can stay on and continue to grow.

When Iliev makes the step up to senior football remains to be seen, but Inter could secure his future for when that happens.

On Iliev’s inclusion in The Guardian’s list, his agent said that “It makes me proud. He totally deserves this award.”

“Not just because he is a talent,” he went on, “but also for his professionalism and the dedication with which he keeps improving and making a name for himself. I see a bright future for him.”

On the choice to join Inter over other clubs including Ajax and Juventus, Ivanon stated that “We feel that Inter were the right choice, we’re more than happy with our decision.”

And on the possibility of renewal, he said that “The club is hoping to address the matter, and so are we. So when the time comes, we’ll certainly have the discussion, and I think we’re all on the same page.”
