Inter are the first club to show a serious interest in signing Sassuolo duo Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi, according to Neroverdi CEO Giovanni Carnevali.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Carnevali explained that the Nerazzurri are the earliest club to move for the striker and midfielder, though other clubs in Italy and abroad have also inquired about them.

The Nerazzurri have identified both Scamacca and Frattesi as major targets for the summer transfer window, as both can provide long-term solutions to key positions within the squad.

Carnevali has confirmed that both players have been the subject of this interest, although it remains to be seen if deals can be agreed for either of them.

The Nerazzurri and the Neroverdi have positive relations, and Inter will be looking to get to work on the deals for both players hoping that they have already established a foothold in trying to sign them.

“I always try to be honest,” Carnevali stated. “Inter were one of the first clubs, but it’s not just Inter, there are other clubs, including clubs from abroad, who have expressed an interested in buying them this month.”

“We resisted because we did not want to deprive ourselves of these players in January,” he added, “and also because we already made a big sale in the form of Boga.”

“So as far as economic necessity, we do not need to sell in this window,” he explained. “We will wait for the summer window and then consider things from there.”

“But it is true that Inter were one of the first not only to move for Scamacca, but also on Frattesi,” he was frank. “The big clubs must try and move ahead of their rivals.”
