Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali accepts that the likes of Inter targets Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi could be on their way from the club.

Speaking to reporters, as reported by FCInter1908, the Neroverdi executive stated that he is glad to be receiving significant offers for the young duo, even though replacing players of their quality will be difficult.

Inter have a positive relationship with Sassuolo, whose model revolves around developing young players and then moving them on to bigger clubs for a significant profit.

In Scamacca and Frattesi, they appear to have at least two more players who will fetch a significant transfer fee to fund their operations, and both players are major targets for Inter in the summer.

Carnevali is sad to see the pair go, but ultimately has their sale in perspective of a successful example of their model in practice and securing the future of the club.

“I don’t hide the fact that it’s difficult to lose them, albeit it’s a nice problem to have,” he said, “as long as we are getting significant offers for these guys it means that we can look to the future in a market that’s increasingly difficult.”

“We can’t forget that this is a market where possibilities are very limited for clubs,” he stressed.

Carnevali concluded that “We are confident, this is why we keep looking at young players – we know that sooner or later we will have to replace our players, it’s not as though we can keep offers at bay forever.”
