AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an injury doubt for the Milan derby on Saturday.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Swede will only play in the match if he makes a complete recovery from the tendon injury he picked up against Juventus.

Ibrahimovic had to come off the pitch at around the half-hour mark of Milan’s goalless draw with the Bianconeri before the international break, with what was revealed to be a problem in his ankle tendon.

The 40-year-old is hoping to be able to start for the Rossoneri in the derby, but he will not be risked if he has not made a full recovery, as this could potentially cause his issue to worsen significantly.

The Rossoneri are continually monitoring Ibrahimovic’s recovery progress to make a decision on whether he should start against Inter, but a final decision will likely only arrive in the hours before the match.
