Legendary former Inter, Roma, and Real Madrid forward Antonio Cassano feels that the Nerazzurri have done well to identify the areas where their squad needed reinforcement in the January transfer window.

Speaking to Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Cassano noted how the Nerazzurri’s interventions in the transfer market fixed issues in the squad rather than trying to massively improve the overall quality.

Inter had been reportedly searching for both a left wing-back to deputize for Ivan Perisic, and a forward who could bolster the attack in the absence of the injured Joaquin Correa during the January window.

Two signings arrived in the last week of he window, one in each position identified as an area of need, in the form of Robin Gosens and Felipe Caicedo.

Cassano feels that these two players each add a needed dimension to the Nerazzurri’s team without being significant outlays.

“The Nerazzuri’s signings were well-targeted,” he said, “they signed Gosens as a backup to Perisic, and Caicedo who was the best ‘twlelfth man’ under Inzaghi at Lazio.”
