Former Genoa CEO Giorgio Perinetti feels that Inter operated exceptionally well in the January transfer window.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the former executive gave the view that the Nerazzurri’s strategy last month showed foresight and intelligence to complete all the necessary objectives with the squad.

Inter brought in wing-back Robin Gosens to provide backup and competition for Ivan Perisic on the left, in addition to loaning in Felipe Caicedo from Genoa in order to bolster the attack with Joaquin Correa out injured.

With these two signings, the Nerazzurri have seemingly acknowledged that the squad was already very strong and didn’t need an overhaul, but looked to both the immediate needs for the rest of the season, and the longer-term future.

Perinetti of a fan of both of these pieces of business, and credits the transfer strategy behind them as being very considered and well thought out.

“Their transfer window was very intelligent and complete,” he said of the Nerazzurri. “They have a high-quality squad, and a manager who is leaving his mark.”
