Former Inter and Napoli midfielder Salvatore Bagni believes that both of the Nerazzurri’s January signings will be able to strengthen the team.
Speaking to Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Bagni praised Robin Gosens as a player who can improve Inter for seasons to come while also highlighting the immediate impact that Felipe Caicedo could make.
Inter’s January window was focused on reinforcing the squad for the rest of the campaign, but in Gosens they picked up a player who is not only capable of deputizing for Ivan Perisic on the left until the end of campaign, but also of holding down the wing-back position for some time.
Meanwhile, Caicedo looks to be more of a short-term signing, brought in on loan from Genoa until the end of the season, but Bagni also believes that the Ecuadorian can prove to be a valuable contributor.
“Signing Gosens was a great move,” he said, “while I think that Caicedo will prove to be very useful.”
