Former Inter midfielder Cristiano Zanetti has suggested that AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is a calmer man now than when he was at Inter in the past, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with TMW Radio, Cristiano Zanetti explained that Jose Mourinho appears calmer at AS Roma because he knows he is not winning trophies as regularly as he used to and therefore can’t make the same demands of his owners.

“During the construction phase, I was not too enthused; Mourinho is calmer than when he was at Inter, he favours the club more while before he would have bought ten players. He is progressing slowly like many other coaches.

“Before that he had the strength to say: if you want me you can get me ten players, now perhaps having no longer won as much as before he had to adapt.”

Jose Mourinho will forever be a hero at Inter as he was the coach when the team won an unprecedented treble. Under the Portuguese coach the Nerazzurri won Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League all in one season.

Cristiano Zanetti also talked about the move from Fiorentina to Juventus that was made by Dusan Vlahovic in January.

He feels it was inevitable as Juventus are a point of arrival team in Italy like Inter or AC Milan.

“Vlahovic wanted Juve and Fiorentina couldn’t do much about it, it was obvious he would go there also as team ambitions. It’s normal, in Italy Juve is a point of arrival like Inter or Milan. When players become important players have the opportunity to take twice as much as Fiorentina offered.”
