The delay on the announcement of a new contract for Marcelo Brozovic relates to the bonuses that he wishes to be easier to achieve, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by FCInternews, the Croatian midfielder has been offered a deal by the club that will last four years and will see him earn €6 million per season as well as some bonuses that would take the fee to €7 million.

The delay is because he wants the bonuses, that appear to be performance-based, to be easier to reach. It is not thought that this is an issue that should derail the negotiations as he definitely wants to stay at Inter, but it does explain why no renewal has been announced yet.

Providing the hitch in negotiations is ironed out quickly, Inter are still working on signing a player who can rotate with Marcelo Brozovic in the future.
