Newly-signed Inter striker Felipe Caicedo will not be included in the squad to face AC Milan in this evening’s derby match in Serie A.

This is confirmed by the club in a tweet on their official account, updating that the Ecuadorian will miss out on the match through adductor fatigue which he has not yet recovered from.

Caicedo joined Inter on loan from Genoa during the last week of the January transfer window, but the 33-year-old picked up some minor muscular problems during training ahead of this evening’s match.

It was uncertain whether the striker would be ready to make the bench for the match, or would not be ready to be part of the squad at all, but now the club have clarified that he will not be in the team.

It remains to be seen how long it will be until Caicedo returns from his injury, with a number of matches scheduled for Inter in the next couple weeks.

The club’s statement reads, “Felipe Caicedo will not be available to Simone Inzaghi in this evening’s match due to fatigue to a muscle.”
