Inter captain Samir Handanovic and AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan are at opposite ends of the experience spectrum when it comes to appearing in Milan derbies.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who highlight that the Nerazzurri captain will start his 21st clash with the Rossoneri, while Maignan is set to experience the fixture for the first time.

Handanovic has faced Milan a total of 33 times across his career, having also come up against the Rossoneri twelve times while at Udinese before joining the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2012.

Meanwhile, Maignan only joined the Rossoneri from Lille last summer, and the Frenchman missed the first derby clash of the season in November through injury with backup Ciprian Tatrusanu taking his place.

This time around, however, Milan will be able to call upon their first-choice keeper, and he will have as his opposite number a man who has more experience of the fixture than most.
