Inter lost the derby in the Serie A against AC Milan by 1-2 who won thanks to a brace by Olivier Giroud.

The Nerazzurri dominated the first half but as has been the case this season were unable to make their chances pay off.

In the second half Inter turned off gifting the initiative to Milan who fully capitalized on the individual mistakes of Samir Handanovic and Stefan de Vrij.

Samir Handanovic – 5,5: Decent saves in the first half and then did what he usually does now: gifts goals. Not his fault he hasn’t been replaced yet.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Did alright throughout the game but wasn’t able to help out in attack as we have seen his do before. Best Inter defender on the day.

Stefan de Vrij – 5: Quite obvious he’s peaked and is on a decline, as we’ve seen consistently this season. Awful mistake for Milan and Giroud’s second goal.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6: Not the usual forward runs we are used to see in attack but defensively solid making some lovely diagonal cross balls in midfield.

Denzel Dumfries – 7: Probably his best match in an Inter shirt. Made life difficult for Theo marauding down the right whilst helping out in defence.

Nicolo Barella – 6,5: Unable to have the same impact he usually has with his crosses which were a little off. Ran and worked hard like always does.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6,5: Dictated the tempo of midfield as he usually did especially in the first half. Was brought off as a safety measure which cost the game.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 6: Looked really up for it, especially in the first half when he was very active. Got an assist but tired the more game went on.

Ivan Perisic – 7,5: Aside from the goal he was everywhere: from helping out defensively to always being an option in attack. A true leader in this Inter.

Lautaro Martinez – 6,5: His link-up play and work-rate is outstanding but his finishing leaves quite a bit to be desired. Unlucky not to get at least an assist.

Edin Dzeko – 6: Works hard and helped out in build-up, especially in the first half. But invisible the longer the match went on offering nothing in attack.

Alexis Sanchez – 5: Replaced Lautaro Martinez in the 70th minute and took an unnecessary risk which led to the equalizer regardless of if he was fouled or not.

Federico Dimarco – 5,5: Came on for Ivan Perisic in the 70th minute and offered absolutely nothing in attack. Misplaced a few passes defensively as well.

Arturo Vidal – 5,5: Brought on for Hakan Calhanoglu in the 73rd minute to help close the game out defensively which he was unable to do. Looks old.

Matteo Darmian – N/A: Substituted on for Alessandro Bastoni in the 82nd minute and didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Matias Vecino – N/A: Replaced Marcelo Brozovic in the 82nd min and didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Simone Inzaghi – 5: Poor in-game management reminiscent of Lazio game. Not his fault he has the players he has on the bench but his fault for those taken off.

Marco Guida – 6: Isn’t a very good referee but one of his better performances which shows how low the bar is. Reasonably consistent.

Inter – 5,5: This is the second derby Inter have gifted away due to being unable to capitalize on their chances. Awfully passive for entire second half.
