Inter-owned midfielder Stefano Sensi is glad that he could help guide his current club Sampdoria to an emphatic win over Sassuolo in the first game of his loan spell.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the 26-year-old expressed his happiness at getting a goal and showing his class in a 4-0 win to start life in Liguria, and also emphasized the importance of getting back to his best form.

Sensi joined Sampdoria on a dry loan towards the end of the January transfer window, with the priority being playing regular football in order to gain momentum after having appearances restricted by injuries and depth in his position over the first half of the campaign with Inter.

The midfielder immediately made an impact by scoring for the Blucerchiati in his first start, and could well show himself to be the highly impactful creative midfielder who he looked to be before injuries hampered him.

“I see being here as a launching pad,” the midfielder said, “I wanted to play and Sampdoria is perfect for me.”

“It was a perfect debut for me,” he went on, “I’m happy to have scored a goal because I’ve gone a while without scoring one, but above all for the win from the team which was very important.”
