Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani feels that Inter captain Samir Handanovic showed his age with the way that he conceded AC Milan’s winning goal in yesterday’s Milan derby clash.

Tweeting after the match, the journalist reflected that the 37-year-old’s attempt to save Olivier Giroud’s second goal was a serious error and in the end decisive for the Rossoneri’s 2-1 win.

Inter were already rocking in the aftermath of Giroud’s first goal in a quickfire brace, which cancelled out a first-half Inter advantage, and the Frenchman popped up a second time to spin past Stefan de Vrij and shoot on goal.

The striker’s effort was hit with some power, but the hand that the Nerazzurri keeper got to it looked to have been quite weak to allow it to cross the line.

For Ravezzani, seeing Handanovic allow the shot to go in looked like evidence that the Nerazzurri captain is no longer at his best.

The derby was decided by two sensational errors on each side,” he tweeted. “Kalulu missed a header from the corner and then Calabria lost Perisic. De Vrij looked like an amateur getting spun by Giroud and Handa looked like an old goalkeeper conceding.”
