Inter captain Samir Handanovic and defender Stefan de Vrij were not up to part in yesterday evening’s derby defeat against AC Milan.
This according to Turin-based newspaper La Stampa, who handed out a score of 5/10 for Handanovic and just 4.5/10 for de Vrij in the player ratings for the match in today’s print edition.
Inter enjoyed long spells in which they looked to have been the more comfortable side for much of yesterday’s match, creating more and better chances for the first hour or so and generally looking the more compact and organized side.
However, in the closing stages the Rossoneri finally took control, mounting serious pressure in search of an equalizer and winner, and it was in these circumstances that both de Vrij and Handanovic were found wanting, effectively costing the team the result.
Meanwhile, however, La Stampa singled out Ivan Perisic for praise for his performance, awarding the 33-year-old a solid grade of 7/10 for his time on the pitch.
