Ivan Perisic was Inter’s best performer in yesterday evening’s derby clash against AC Milan, shining despite the 2-1 loss to the Rossoneri.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who awarded the 33-year-old a 7.5/10 grade in their player ratings and argue that he acquitted himself well despite some disappointing displays from teammates.
Perisic had scored the Nerazzurri’s only goal of the match, finishing well after a Hakan Calhanoglu corner fell to him, while the Croat also created chances for his teammates and was very active in both attack and defense down his flank.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta also handed out solid 7/10 grades to Marcelo Brozovic and Hakan Calhanoglu for their displays, and deemed Nicolo Barella and Denzel Dumfries worthy of 6.5/10 scores for their efforts.
Striker Lautaro Martinez, by contrast, received only a 5/10 score for a disappointing evening in front of goal, as did captain Samir Handanovic for his costly inability to keep out Olivier Giroud’s second goal for Milan.
Apart from these, a slew of players as well as coach Simone Inzaghi were given 5.5/10 scores for mediocre days at the office as they failed to make a strong first half count and crumbled in the second period under Rossoneri pressure.
