Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic could be given a rest in tomorrow’s Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Roma.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 33-year-old is not injured and only felt some cramps during the derby against AC Milan on Saturday, but could still be rested.

Perisic was taken off during the second half of Saturday’s derby clash, and coach Simone Inzaghi explained that the Croat had felt a bit of tightness and the substitution was a precautionary measure.

He looks likely to be among the players rotated out of the team for tomorrow evening’s match against Roma, however, as the coach looks to be proactive about avoiding injury or exhaustion among his players.

Federico Dimarco looks set to take his place on the left, while the likes of Danilo D’Ambrosio, Andrea Ranocchia, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian, and Roberto Gagliardini could also be handed starts.
